Many of us know people who live complicated lives who always seem to have something wrong that they complain about. Many of us have been those who fought endlessly to thrive and had difficulty accepting their reality.

We also know people who are just happy, not because they have everything in life or because they have never had to struggle. It is not because they are wealthy and successful but because they have trained their brains to find joy in the little things in life. We can all be those people by building habits that make us a little happier and more content because happiness is not a destination but creating a life that prioritizes good habits for holistic well-being.
Here are the five daily habits of people who are content:
1. Prioritise meaningful connections
Everyone is busy with work, family, and life, but truly happy people prioritise important relationships and make time to stay connected. They make time for people who are important to them by setting up times to meet in person or on vacations if they live far away and schedule phone calls to talk. Knowing the importance of genuine connections, they prioritise that in life. They are proactive about their relationships and continue to work on it. They continue to build new relationships.
2. Make time for themselves
Happy people always make time for themselves every day, whether to enjoy a slow morning drinking their coffee, watch a show, meditate or rest, pursue a hobby, or work on a skill that is just for them. It is time they set aside every day for them to do them, to be them. Content people set clear boundaries around their "me time" so they can be the best for other people.
Everyday choices that lead to a life filled with happiness.
3. Have a sense of purpose
Your purpose doesn't have to be something that will change the world but something that excites you to get out of bed and look forward to the day. Some people find purpose in their jobs, some in their hobbies, and some in their social roles. They are guided by purpose; the more meaningful life feels, the easier it is to be happy. Whatever their purpose is, it keeps them pushing forward and staying optimistic about the future.
4. Find a balance between movement and rest
For some people, movement can be a gym or home workout class. It can also be time spent doing yoga, gardening in the backyard, or walking around the neighbourhood. It doesn't necessarily have to be the traditional meaning of exercise. They schedule appointments with themselves because movement is good for the body and the mind. They also make time to prioritize sleep because a lack of rest can increase stress and irritability.
5. They have faith
They believe in a higher power, whether it is a God or an unseen force that always has their back. They have confidence that things will be okay, even if things are hard or not great. They trust that something is always there with them to help them along the way to where they want to be or where they want to go. This mindset can help them feel worthy and choose healthier habits. There is power in prayer.
