PARK LIFE
Enjoy a bit of free yoga in the park this summer
Nothing beats whiling away the hours in the park when the weather’s fine. Then again, nothing beats a free yoga class either. This summer you can enjoy both with Paul Hodgetts in the lovely town of Market Harborough.
For the second year running, he’ll be running his popular (and free!) Yoga in the Park classes at Welland Park during the summer months. Classes run each Saturday morning until the end of August (although last year they were extended into September because of the great weather, so fingers crossed!).
Each class is free to attend and last year attracted between 50 and 80 people per class, a mix of all ages and ability levels. Hodgetts said the 2018 classes received great support from the local council (who provided the loan of additional mats and a PA system) and the local Park Run community, who promoted the classes via their website. They also received a helping hand from the Welland Park café – the classes take place opposite the café in the park.
Hodgetts, a former IT executive who quit his high-stress corporate job to pursue a yoga career, also runs chargeable classes throughout the area at a health club called the Archway based in Market Harborough and also under his practice name, Two Breaths More. “I came to yoga 10 years ago when my wife persuaded me to join her for a class having previously resisted and went along rather reluctantly but was blown away by the experience,” he tells OM.
Be sure you get your free fun in the sun in this summer.
