ecoYoga Mats

ecoYoga mats are known for their amazing grip and are designed
with practical and aesthetic discretion to serve any yoga practice

Reading time: 2 minutes

The strength and environmental qualities of jute, along with the historical Indian/Scottish jute industry, was the inspiration for ecoYoga to create mats using jute fabric at their core. A 100% natural rubber provides the body of the mats, offering the excellent grip and tactile texture. They wear along with the progression of your practice and in the end will degrade back to the earth. Created as an alternative to imported oil-based plastic and synthetic mats, these ecoYoga mats are made from plant-based ingredients and manufactured in the UK.

ecoYoga classic yoga mats — £27 - £60

2mm: The 2mm mats are the lightweight option. A great introduction to ecoYoga mats and ideal if you travel or carry your mat around a lot. An ecoYoga favourite that provides a solid grounding.
4mm: The 4mm mats were the first ecoYoga mats created in 2003. These provide a firm base for practice with good support and cushion. 6mm: The 6mm Phoenix mats were introduced following customer requests. They have the most cushion, squish and bounce, yet maintain a firmness for standing asana confidence.

Mats available in 6ft and 7ft lengths. The 6ft is standard length while the 7ft is great if you like your jump through fully on your mat, or if you’re over 6ft tall and like to keep head and feet on mat during savasana. Available in five beautiful super-grippy colours including ecoYoga’s unique pigment-free (aka Colourfree) range. This unique colour-free option is exactly that: no colour, no pigment, no dye added…these mats express a natural beauty with no bleaching chemicals. Other colours include Coral Red, Dark Lavender, Dark Grey and Green.

ecoYoga Wabi-Sabi mats — £15 - £28

Wabi-sabi is the concept of acceptance toward imperfection. ecoYoga works only with natural raw ingredients, a slow and unpredictable process, which gives character to each yoga mat. Whilst the factory has strict guidelines for quality control, any mats with bold idiosyncrasies are set aside for individual inspection. These are termed the wabi-sabi mats. The ecoYoga wabi-sabi mats are currently sold at low cost but there is no compromise in their function for practice: glitches are aesthetic only and often desired!
