Asha is a yoga and meditation practitioner. Passionate about preserving ancient philosophical manuscripts and the sacred wisdom they contain, she volunteers with not-for-profit organisations that discover, digitise, and freely disseminate the contents of endangered Sanskrit manuscripts – especially those written on fragile palm-leaf scrolls.
She is a journalist and writer on popular culture, and has taught Indian cinema at SOAS. Her book, Pop Culture India! Media, Arts, and Lifestyle, was published by ABC-CLIO in 2006. She currently serves on the selection panel for the Goteborg Film Festival, and the practice of yoga has helped her sit through long hours of screening!
