From an early age I loved to be outdoors and active – climbing trees, building camps, running cross country and I really enjoyed athletics. In the early 90’s I stumbled upon my first yoga class and over the following years my devotion to yoga grew stronger and stronger. In 2020 I was in a position to have the space in my life to take my 300RYT yoga teacher training. Following this incredible year of learning, I continue to acquire knowledge and research as part of my daily practice. I was a member of the Asana Acadamy with Mark Stephens, I have taken numerous workshops with inspiring teachers such as Stewart Gilchrist, and most recently I am learning Activated Asana from Denise Rouleau.
My teaching approach is rooted in the ancient traditions of Hatha yoga, blending traditional teachings with modern techniques, to create a holistic practice that nourishes and strengthens mind, body, and soul. Classes include traditional teachings, asana, meditation and pranayama and I also often include work with bands, blocks and straps to help challenge the body to build strength and encourage safe alignment through activation. Focussing on activating our bodies as we move through gentle flows or stronger vinyasas to cultivate focus, an inner balance and harmony.
