William Lopez

William Shambo, is a former government-trained military journalist that turned yogi as a result of multiple health issues following active duty. Neurological issues costs him the use of both arms for several years, and still leaves Shambo In daily chronic pain. Yoga was the primary means that he used to recover the use of his failing system and to maintain his current health. In addition to yoga, later in life, he became an avid oil painter. Shambo uses painting for both physical and mental therapy. He currently resides in Oregon, with his longtime girlfriend, Tori, and his dog, Ember.

Qualifications

I have over 20 years of journalism experience, with approximately 1000 published articles. During this time, I worked in over a dozen countries, including two tours to Iraq. Most of my previous work was military and crime related.

I received my yoga teacher training in the Bahamas and became a certified instructor in 2018. I began a teaching practice immediately, which came to a sudden end when COVID hit. I am just now getting back into teaching, which I intend to do through published articles, as well as my local and online classes.
