Autumn Fruits Smoothie
SERVES 2
The sun is still shining, but the leaves are already falling and plump blackberries are sitting on the hedges, waiting to be eaten. As a city dweller, I’ve come to blackberry picking late in life, but it’s been something of a revelation. I’ve started to notice other ‘pickers’ on my walks, and we smile at each other. It’s a bit like being in a secret club: if you know, you know. Having said that, blackberry picking is one of the most accessible activities; just remember to be careful of thorns and wash the berries thoroughly. If you end up with too much, you can freeze them for eating another time.
