Great causes
As well as environmental causes, JadeYoga runs a community partners initiative to help people and organisations trying to bring yoga to those who might benefit from it, but might not otherwise have a chance to try — from schools to prisons, hospitals to shelters.
You can even apply for a grant for your organisation – perhaps for a single mat for a raffle or auction, or for a dozen mats to bring a class to a group in need.
There are a few specific causes and organisations that are especially significant. For example, every Earth Day a portion of sales goes to an environmental group the JadeYoga community helps to select.
And on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, the company gives a portion of sales to help support abused children.
From time to time, it will release a special colour mat to raise awareness and funds for other causes. For example every autumn, there’s a pink mat to raise money for breast cancer awareness, education, research and support.
The company has also raised money for autism though its saffron mats.
The most popular special colour has been teal, with around $5 from the sale of each mat donated to ovarian cancer causes. More than $100,000 has already been donated to ovarian cancer research and support — all thanks to thousands of amazing yogis worldwide!
