The photo shows yogini Eva Kristlova in East Sussex, where the glistening Cuckmere River cuts through the green fields and the beautiful South Downs meets the sea. “This is my special place,” she tells OM. “Climbing the rolling hills with my yoga mat and enjoying this breath-taking view as I settle down for sunset has been one of my daily self-care practices.” It’s the perfect spot for a gentle yoga practice in the evening watching the sun go down behind the hills, or in the morning to wake up the body with a few sun salutations. “The view never gets boring, as I watch the bunnies hopping around, sheep munching on the grass, paddle boarders gliding on the river, dog walkers walking past and sailing boats floating slowly on the horizon,” she says. “The elements are ever present here, the sun rising and setting, the wind blowing, the earth warming up and cooling down, the sea and river always alive. The whole atmosphere is charged with the magic of nature. Time slows down here as you drop into meditation or lie down on the mat and relax to the sounds of the birds.”
