BAM is a B Corp certified British brand that’s been breaking new ground in the world of activewear since 2006 — and OM readers can’t get enough of it. It scooped the Favourite Yoga Clothing Brand award in recognition of the clothing it produces and the way it is made.

“We’re delighted,” said Ryan Shannon, managing director. “We’re a small company but we have big ambitions: to show there’s no place for sweaty synthetics on the yoga mat! The fact that the award is chosen by readers of the magazine and not a panel of judges makes it even more special. It’s wonderful that our yoga wear has been recognised in this way.”

BAM uses nature-based and recycled fabrics in its products which are renowned for their breathability, durability and softness, making them ideal for yoga. The business is also ultra transparent: it has introduced the groundbreaking BAM DNA, giving customers radical transparency and honesty on how their item of clothing was made, right back to the raw materials, with just a quick snap of a QR code.

Above all, the quality of BAM clothing and its suitability for yoga practice is behind the company’s award success, said Shannon.

“It doesn’t matter what good intentions you have as a company, ultimately it will come down to the comfort and performance of the clothing. I think that our success acknowledges that we are managing to combine both: creating designs that truly deliver whilst striving to do our best by the planet.”

In 2025, more new colours and innovative designs will be coming in, he added, with clever layering pieces so customers of all ages can create their own style. That means leggings, yoga pants, feather-light tops and vests to layer over supportive crop tops, plus some stylish, cosy cover-ups and fleeces.

For any aspiring companies eyeing up future OM Yoga awards, be prepared to put in the work necessary to success. “You need to be confident in your product and proud of your working practices as there’s nowhere to hide when you put yourself forward. But that’s what also makes it so rewarding.”
