Why did you start yoga

I started yoga in my 30s as a busy mum craving balance and peace. Juggling work and family left me with little time for myself and yoga became my sanctuary. As I established a regular practice, I noticed it not only helped my body but also calmed my mind, allowing me to reconnect with myself after years of feeling disconnected. In my 40s, as I faced the physical signs of ageing and stiffness, yoga became my essential remedy, like oil for my joints. It transformed not just my body but my entire wellbeing. I realised that every part of me, physically and energetically, was touched by this practice. Yoga freed me from years of self-doubt and living in my head. On the mat, I could just ‘be’, without judgement or comparison. It became my solid ground, my stability, my magic.

How has yoga changed your life?

Yoga has completely transformed my life. Three years ago, I felt stuck at a crossroads in my career, trying to fit into a corporate path that no longer suited me. That’s when I looked inward and realised my true passion was yoga. I signed up for a teacher training retreat to soak up the sun, connect with new friends and learn new skills. The experience was nothing short of life-changing. Now, I’m back in the corporate world, but on the uplifting side — helping teams manage stress and promoting overall wellbeing through yoga and mindfulness.

Favourite yoga haunts?

My go-to yoga haunt? Not a physical place, but a state of mind! I thrive on retreats, immersing myself in new modalities and learning alongside fellow teachers. To stay energised and serve others, I recharge with hot yoga, sound baths and aerial yoga; these restorative practices keep me at my best.

Best Yoga Moment

I had a 'wow' moment when I'd just set up for the first ever Sister Circle I was running, honouring a full moon. I looked at the faux fur rugs I'd placed on the mats, the blankets and bolsters arranged around my altar with fresh flowers and candles and thought: "I do this for a living!" It was a magical moment as I had been to events like this to find calm and now I was running them. I know how much yoga has helped me to connect inwards.

Anything else

After completing my 200-hour qualification, I've taken my practice to the next level with specialist training in yoga nidra, restorative yoga, mindful meditation and sound therapy. I've even started playing crystal and Himalayan singing bowls at nourishing events. My monthly 'Cosy Club’ combines yoga nidra and restorative yoga and has become a sell-out sensation, providing a much-needed escape for busy lives to people in my area who’d never experienced this before. My next step is to launch my monthly membership, offering global access to meditation recordings, digital yoga classes and online community events — a sister circle where you can glow from within, no matter where you are in the world. Without stepping onto my mat all those years ago, none of this would’ve been possible.
