Break out of your comfort zone — in the most comfortable place on earth

Reading time: 2 minutes

You may have heard of Ragdale Hall Spa in lovely rural Leicestershire because of its award-winning reputation as one of the best spa retreats in the UK. That’s because it is — with a reputation to prove it going back decades.

But did you know it’s also a fantastic place to get your yoga fix and explore a multitude of other classes, from high-intensity interval training in the water, to mindful Tai Chi and gentle, candlelight stretching as the evening sets in.

Swap your soft, towelling robe for your swimming trunks or lycra and navigate a smorgasbord of health and fitness classes in the plush studios and gym.

“The wide array of activities on our timetable afford the perfect opportunity to try something different, as a result of which our guests often return home and continue with a new exercise habit,” says Dean Hodgkin, fitness consultant. “Our team are specifically trained to manage mixed levels, ensuring that first-timers are made welcome, can workout at their own, safe intensity and have fun doing so.”

Yoga is an integral part of the overall fitness schedule, but at Ragdale Hall Spa the offering is extensive with a flavour for all tastes.

“Aware of the popularity of yoga, and keen to deliver new experiences to our guests, we offer Hatha, Ashtanga, Yin, candlelight yoga, and even in-water yoga classes. In addition, Yoga Reps is one of our signature classes, created by me and not found anywhere else, combining yoga postures with light handweights and proving very popular.”

You’ll also find lots of other fitness activities, including Pilates, a range of dance classes, fun water-based sessions and more mindful exercises — Candle Stretch, an all-over body mobility and stretch class, is a great end to a busy day! One-to-one sessions are also available if you want more private instruction.
